Zyns Go Deep on The General and Team

(02/12/2025)

Zynfadels solidified as top dog. Can Rolling Stones rain on their parade?

Last week was Rubes first ever intra-league match up....against any team part of the Pin Boys. Surprising, given he is about 105 years old (29) and has been in the league since the Polio outbreak, but for one reason or another has missed previous matchups against the other boys.

"To be honest, I thought it was going to be a bit more stressful, bowling against a dynasty like Bowls Deep, having to bowl against my brother, hell my father was there. But at the end of the day, it was just another day at the lanes, and the better team won."

Sure - Chicago Social will include handicap as part of their standings, but here at the Bowletin, the handi has nothing to do with ours. If Zynfadels were to lose the scratch games because Bowls Deep "is the best team in the league", but win by handicap, it would have been like taking the ugly girl to the prom. You get to go to prom, maybe get some action after, but at the end of the day - they are still ugly.

After game 3 - Zynfadels not only went to prom, got action after the prom, but took the varsity cheerleader who was dating Jason Wilkins until she was caught cheating with Milk Richards. Despite dropping game 2 - all night was Zynfadels 6mg deep in The General's band of brothers. This match was just as everyone had hoped and more - high scores, loud cheers, and plenty of chirps.

Game 1: Zynfadels: 669 Bowls Deep: 643

This match was over as soon as Milk took the lane in his Stussy beanie and cool jeans. His Dad watched courtside after he and Rubes Sr. made the trek out to Waveland Bowl from Geneva. While "milked up" Milk posted a 220 score after 7 straight strikes. Milk received some support from Rubes to seal the deal, but even with two 200 scores coming from Zynfadels, Bowls Deep still kept the game close with Bones scoring a solid 210. The boys on each side were coming out swinging for this series and set the tone for this matchup out of the gate.

Game 2: Bowls Deep: 651  Zynfadels: 566

Zynfadels were not going to win this match coming out scoring in the 500s. In order to beat a team like Bowls Deep, 600 is the bare minimum and game 2 proved that to be the case. Ace was able to brush off the rust quickly after coming back from injury and posted a 203 in his second game. Nice rotations from Bowls Deep put this game in the bag from the jump. At first, it seemed like Zynfadels were coming down from cloud 9 and back to reality and as this game continued, one side of the lane was starting to feel some momentum (Bowls Deep) while the others were as quiet as an alley rat (Zynfadels).

Game 3: Zynfadels: 626 Bowls Deep: 598

With young talent like Bowls Deep, they rely on pure athleticism, and once the 3rd game started, the youngbloods tried to roll Zynfadels out of the gym, I mean, Alley. In previous monologues high praise has been given to Zynfadels about two things. 1. Consistency - they start the season with low handicaps, they end the season with low handicaps and that was no different in game 3. and 2. With experience, they learned about the ice in their veins.

Solidified H2O in the body is something you are either born with, or not, but it is something you do not naturally realize. It's almost like a superpower - there is an event, you react to that event, and you realize your gift. At this point in their careers, Zynfadels has realized and harnessed the power of that vesicular ice, top/down on the team. Saw it last year when B was asked to bowl 3 games in the championship and you saw it in game 3 when Rubes and Tornado both shot over 175. The consistent striking and closing of frames ultimately wore on Bowls Deep, posting lackluster finishes of 152, 145, but a solid 169 from the General.

Zynfadels had Bowls Deep this week, but we will likely see the two again with Championship implications - it happens every year.

"If we played 100 times, it would probably be a 50/50 split on who wins" said Rubes. "We got them this time around, and excited to see them again in the Championship".
